How I brush up grammar points

Learners of English often stumble over how to form sentences using IF … and I have the same problem with SI in French.

It’s time for me to go over this grammar point again.

Here’s what I’ll do:

  1. Find a clear explanation of how to form conditionals, either in a book or on a website or a video or ask AI.

  2. Copy out their examples by hand several times to imprint the patterns.

  3. Create my own catchphrases to make the patterns stick.

  4. Regularly review my catchphrases — I use paper flash cards.

  5. Notice when reading and listening how conditionals are used in real life.

  6. Try to use some conditionals in my 5-minute writing and 3-2-1 speaking.

Steps 1-3 don’t take long, about 20-30 minutes.

And I have to keep going with steps 4-6 until conditionals have become automatic.

It’ll take a few weeks, but I know the effort will be worth it in the end when I can easily use conditional forms fluently.

What grammar point are you going to brush up?
