5 questions for a health professional about speaking in English
Bing is a doctor from China who needs to do an interview to move to the next level of surgical training.
- How do you feel about speaking in English?
It’s ok, but I know I could do better if I practised more. But I’m always so busy and tired.
- What’s the hardest thing about speaking in English?
Explaining procedures clearly to patients and not being so direct when speaking with colleagues.
- How do you overcome this?
I did an EPRO Express session and my coach recommended I slow down. We also practised interview questions and answers. My coach gave me feedback, which was very helpful.
- What are your speaking goals?
I need to do well in this interview. That means speaking fluently and correctly. And then, I want to speak in a more professional way.
- What’s your advice for others who need to speak in English?
I found the feedback from my coach very useful, so I think getting some help can make you progress faster.
Do you need to improve your speaking for work, too? My EPRO Express session can get you unstuck.
