Don’t give up
That’s perfectly normal.
There are periods when you feel you’re making steady progress:
Listening is less of a struggle, your vocabulary is growing, you can give your opinion about the movie you just watched …
But suddenly:
The podcast was gobbledegook, the grammar point you’re studying makes no sense, you couldn’t follow let alone contribute to the conversation at dinner …
You’re in a slump.
And you’re going to give up learning your language.
Please don’t!
Instead: decide on a minimum viable task you’ll do most days.
A fun MVA like active copying, 5-minute writing or 3-2-1 speaking.
Do your MVA dailyish.
You’re taking a break to recharge but not quitting.
Get out of a language learning slump by making a change …
… and then follow my MORE approach to regroup so you start moving again.
Need a hand to set up and stick to your language project? I can help.
