5 questions about writing in English

What do health professionals say about writing in English when it’s not their first language?

Jasmine is a physiotherapist from the Philippines working in a practice where she has to contribute a blog post twice a month.

  1. How do you feel about writing in English?
I like writing in English but I think what I write is not very good. It’s not easy to understand.

  2. What’s the hardest thing about writing in English?
I want to show the readers my knowledge and how I can help them. But it’s hard to find the right style and the right words.

  3. How do you overcome this?
I write and rewrite and write again. As soon as I finish one post I have to start the next one because it takes me a very long time to write. I used to ask the receptionist to read my posts, but she’s always busy and I don’t want to bother her.

  4. What are your writing goals?
I need to write better blog posts faster. I want to write posts that are easy to read and help our clients.

  5. What’s your advice for others who need to write in English?
Now that I’m working with a writing coach, I feel less stressed. She gives me good tips, checks my posts and explains my mistakes. I feel that my writing is getting better and that makes me happy.
