5 essential tips to get your emails read

We get so many emails every day that we usually just skim them, which makes it crucial to write emails that are easy to read.

To make reading easier:

  1. Use a short subject line to sum up your message

  2. Start politely to ease your reader into your email

  3. Use simpler words and shorter sentences for easier reading

  4. Stop early and don’t write more than you need to – some even recommend writing no more than 5 sentences

  5. Sign off politely by showing thanks, as in “thanks in advance”

Stick to these pointers and your message will get the attention it deserves.
